Hanhart and the Austrian Air Force join Forces

Introducing the new Hanhart Chronograph: AUSTRIAN AIR FORCE AW169M Ltd Ed.

In a collaborative effort with the Austrian Air Force, Hanhart has meticulously crafted a chronograph that seamlessly blends heritage with contemporary functionality, explicitly made for airborne missions.

Limited to just 50 pieces with a fluted bezel and another 50 with a smooth bezel, this exclusive timepiece boasts intricate details and a dark green dial adorned with the historic Hanhart logo. Symbolizing the rich history of aviation and its modern evolution, the dial features a striking depiction of a propeller—a nod to Leonardo da Vinci's "Helix Pteron" sketch, a timeless symbol of progress and innovation in aviation.

Named after the renowned Italian manufacturer of military helicopters, the AW169M, which serves in the Austrian Armed Forces, this timepiece pays homage to its namesake's performance and versatility, essential for day and night missions.

The AUSTRIAN AIR FORCE AW169M Limited Edition has a 45mm diameter and is equipped with a single-pusher chronograph. This allows seamless control of all chronograph functions—start, stop, and zero setting—with just one pusher. Hanhart has meticulously redesigned the automatic calibre in its workshops to achieve this unique functionality.

Positioned on the dial's periphery, the sub-dials for small seconds and the 30-minute counter maintain the classic design of Hanhart timepieces. Additionally, the green dial features cathedral hands and Arabic numerals coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring optimal legibility even in low-light conditions.

The movement inside is the high-quality automatic calibre ETA 7750, enhanced with modifications from La Joux-Perret, concealed under a screw-down stainless steel case back. With a water resistance of up to 10 ATM, this chronograph is aesthetically pleasing and built to withstand the rigours of airborne missions.
