Look no further. Omega just released the best-looking Speedmaster (IMHO).
Omega's renowned 'First Omega in Space' is back, now featuring a modern Co-Axial Master Chronometer update. This tribute toOmega’s space exploration legacy blends classic design with modern precision, including a hesalite-like sapphire crystal and METAS certification. Originally launched in 1959 as the CK 2998, the watch stood out with its Alpha hands, symmetrical case, and dark bezel. Astronaut Wally Schirra famously wore it during the Sigma 7 mission in 1962, cementing its place in history.
The 2024 update retains the vintage-inspired 39.70 mm stainless steel case, black aluminum bezel, and tachymeter scale. A grey-blue CVD-coated dial and vintage Super-LumiNova hands reflect the original 1960s design. Historical elements like dual OMEGA logos and a Seahorse medallion on the caseback honor its roots.
Powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, this timepiece ensures top-tier precision and magnetic resistance. Available in three versions, buyers can choose between a leather strap or a full metal bracelet with Omega’s patented comfort release system.
