Building on the success of the Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, Piaget introduces another stunning complication to its iconic Polo collection: the chronograph, now available in a vibrant emerald green.
With the simple yet profound statement “Jewellers and Watchmakers since 1874,” Piaget encapsulates its rich heritage and unique identity. Founded 150 years ago in La Côte-aux-Fées, the heart of the Swiss watchmaking valley, the Maison has always been driven by a daring aesthetic that has become its signature. Known for their mastery of ultra-thin movements and fascination with the vibrant colours of ornamental stones and gold, Piaget has elevated these elements to an art form. This uncompromising dedication to technique and aesthetics has firmly established Piaget as the Maison of Extraleganza, a philosophy evident in its high watchmaking, jewellery creations, and everyday pieces.
Redesigned in 2016 with a contemporary edge, the Piaget Polo Chronograph retains the stylish sport-chic essence of the original 1979 Piaget Polo. This model also reflects Piaget’s long-standing love of complications, reminiscent of the chronograph movements used in the Gouverneur watches 1980s and the Protocole XL and Upstream models of the 2000s.
Presented in a 42 mm case, the Polo Chronograph layers different shapes within the rounded curves of its cushion-shaped case. Driven by the 1160P movement, the watch creates a playful contrast, echoing the two-toned dials of Panda chronographs. Traditionally featuring stark white and matte black contrasts, the Polo Chronograph brings these elements into the vibrant, daring world of Piaget, creating a unique visual effect.
The dial’s vivid emerald green hue, inspired by the Swiss Jura mountains—Piaget’s birthplace—draws the eye and sets a bold tone. This shade also graces the Piaget Polo Date Field and the Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin.
Unlike the Maison’s other Panda chronograph with a slate blue dial and rubber strap, this model features a stainless steel bracelet, enhancing its radiant, light-filled appearance.
Since its launch in the exuberant early 1980s, the Piaget Polo collection has never ceased to captivate. With its myriad facets, the Piaget Polo is more than a mere timekeeper—it embodies a lifestyle.
