Vulcain is reissuing the iconic clock from JFK Airport's TWA terminal, a masterpiece of 1960s modernist design by Eero Saarinen.
This new compact desk clock faithfully replicates the original with a 316L stainless steel body and an iridescent light grey finish.
Guillaume Laidet saw the clock as a perfect tribute to the Jet Age aesthetic. The TWA terminal, a landmark of mid-century modernism, was designed by Saarinen and opened in 1962. Restored in 2019, it now serves as the TWA Hotel, where the original Vulcain clock remains a central feature.
On September 22, 2024, Vulcain reintroduces this historic clock in a sleek desk version, measuring 12.6 cm in height and 8.3 cm in diameter. Crafted from durable stainless steel, its iridescent grey finish adds sophistication. The clock features three dials displaying different time zones, powered by precise RONDA 712 quartz movements, making it a perfect blend of Jet Age nostalgia and modern design.
